Sonia’s with us. It was her first all night bus ride and she’s thrilled to be here with Paul, Isaiah, Maciah and me. Tomorrow we will be at the hospital all day with her, they will be doing tests to make sure her body is ready for surgery.
I’m sooooo happy to have her in my arms, telling me a story. My laptop propped up on a suitcase out on terrace – power outage is a perfect time to be outside. “Jesus comes over…my Jesus is hungry….” she goes on, pulling at her lavender dress with a large bow in the back and bright red plastic sandals over blue socks. Amen to that, little one!!! I LOVE her story telling. Time to ponder…I wonder if this would be a place Jesus would like to come hang out in?
Ah, this little gorgeous, bright eyed girl! now singing to me, “watermelon, watermelon, pineapple…pineapple….”
How her parents could have sought to kill her is beyond my comprehension. How grateful I am for God’s great intervention for her precious life. She will change this next generation with her powerful testimony. She will bring many to righteousness with her life story, her voice is powerful already, may she be grounded in His Word. It’s impossible not to love this sparking little doll.
Thankful for how the blood of Christ covers us here as the songs to Krishna fill the air, whistling through our little home from the temple by Isaiah’s room. All praises and glory and honor be to the One True God of heaven and earth. Our Redeemer is mighty and He will take all glory for Himself and not give to another. By faith, I proclaim these songs, trusting in Jesus’ protection of my babies.
Life in India: An Afternoon here in list form.
A small power outageLearning Paul’s mom is sick downstairs…..she works so hard taking care of us all. We need to take her for a check up.Mopping spilled Dhal off the shiny red tile the 3rd time all over the tile after my darling 1 year old spilled (no highchair to lock him in makes meal time a sheer disaster). I would let him eat outside, but squirrels and ants love our laundry and trash. Our girls calling to share their results for exam time—14 of our 19 are thriving in a private English school.
A fight in our street over the parking spots for neighbors using the tea stall next door. I knew not to make eye contact as I passed the men with babies in hand going inside as they called out to me just before blows hit.
A believer carrying me up a dish she made and needing prayer for her family.
Giving Maciah his 2 hour feeding – he is very diligent in letting me know if we’re late!
Reading time with Isaiah after catching him climbing up to pull the laptop down.
Hanging the wash out to dry Martha helped me hand wash this evening.
Distracting Isaiah with raisins after I asked him to “stop body crushing his baby”.
Phone calls from the team for our December and January camps re:scheduling, hotels, etcWell, somehow midnight just struck here and after sweeping out a gecko, (they sneak in through the open windows in kitchen and bath) and greeting Paul to hear about the 13 yr old girl and 24 yr old fella who were healed of tormenting demon possession, I think it’s time we aim for bed. Praise God for their new found freedom! Both families are rejoicing and sores on the boy’s back all cleared up as the Holy Spirit set him free.
Paul preaches in the morning on our identity in Christ at our fasting and prayer Friday service. I’m thanking God with all my heart Isaiah is better, not quite to full strength, but no fever and he’s eating again so thankful for that. We hit the slums this weekend with toys and food; can’t wait to love on ‘the least’ of these, His very most favorite happen to be mine too.
Each day is so fun, so unpredictable, so very, very full. We are humbled and reminded constantly of your prayer in our success and in our health. Thank you for the gift of your love. Thank you especially for your prayers for those dearest to us. Our girls are all doing well and we are working hard at arranging Sonia’s surgery for next week. Lord willing, after she recovers in our home we will all travel back through the mountains together to be with our girls.
Thank you for all the prayers for Sonia, for their love for Christ, their protection and even future husbands. It means sooo very much to us. We are thankful for you remembering us, thankful that you walk this faith journey with us.
Love from Molly and the gang!
