We all want to matter. To know we count. "Am I important?" we are asking.
These questions are more intense for the lower castes in Indian society. The caste system tells them they don't matter, and nothing they can ever do will change that.
How Morely Discovered He Matters
All that changed for Morely, a young boy from a Hindu family in the slums. His father, Ganapathy, was an assistant to a Hindu priest. He performed many regular pumas and ceremonial acts for pagan idols in the rough part of the slums where they live.
Five years ago, Morely discovered that he did matter. He participated in the sports ministry of ITMI partners, Paul and Molly. The ministry allows for so many great things for the youth.
They learn life lessons based on Biblical truth. They develop relationships with coaches and staff, who disciple them. And they hear the Good News: they matter because Jesus loves and died for them.
Through the sports ministry, Morely received Christ. But that's not the end of this great story of God's work.
Morely shared Christ with his entire family! His father, the assistant to the Hindu priest accepted Jesus and was saved. His mother and sister were also saved.
Now Morely serves in the sports ministry as a part-time staff member.
"Please pray for this precious family to have courage and continue to grow and stand for Christ in the midst of many trials," Paul and Molly request.
How Sidhu's Widowed Mother's Life Changed
Sidhu also received Christ through the sports ministry. His mother is a widow who has suffered through depression and demonic possession, among other trials. Like Morely, Sidhu shared salvation with his family.
Coming to Christ has been life-changing for Sidhu's mother. Now she knows hope and joy, and she shares the love of Christ with all who know her.
The Continual Planting of Seeds and Reaching Youth in India
Six-hundred and fifty-six youth participated in Paul and Molly's summer camp in 12 different locations. The awards night was primarily outreach where the Gospel is clearly presented again. They were each invited to local cell groups in their areas and our future camps so that our young men can follow up with them.

Hundreds heard the gospel and were invited to local cell groups for discipleship.
"It is exciting to witness their genuine passion for the truth when they have come from such darkness and hardship. Please keep these youngsters in your prayers," Paul and Molly share.
Six-hundred and eight children in 8 different locations participated in VBS. Forty-eight whole-hearted VBS teachers poured their hearts into the children who came.
The last night, a few hundred families came for the closing ceremony. Many heard the Gospel for the first time. Paul and Molly's ministry is following up with these children in each location by running Sunday schools and many have joined our tutor centers across the city.
