A gruff voice announced, “Surprise inspection!” as a government official pounded on the door of the home where Paul and Molly’s girls live in Southern India.
The home, called “Sunshine Home” by the girls on the memorable day when they first ran through its halls, can be inspected at any time by government officials, who may or may not be interested in supporting Paul and Molly’s goals of raising the girls in a loving home where Jesus is Lord.
Sunshine home, where Paul and Molly's girls live.
The inspectors’ tone softened as they walked through the rooms. They smiled.
The men shook their heads after checking the water, the bedrooms, the farm and every corner, "We have never seen such well-cared for children - or such a beautiful home for little ones. We will make a note in our public records of the standard of excellence here. We will never forget this visit."
"We've never seen such well-cared-for children!"
They loved the animals, ate some fruits and made comments on all the greens the girls eat.
What a testimony to the difference it makes when you believe that all are made in the Image of God and treat them that way!
What a foretaste of His Kingdom, where all His precious Image-bearers are treasured!
Paul and Molly have even taken things one step further than making sure the girls have healthy food, a clean place to live, an education and a chance to hear about Jesus’ love for them.
They are adamant; this is not an orphanage. These are not orphans. These 19 girls are theirs. They have a Mom. They have a Dad. They have a family.
These girls have a mom and a dad who love each of them.
A family that knows and appreciates their unique gifts and personalities. A family that does fun things together.
Molly appreciates and encourages each girls unique gifting.
A place where they belong.
