This article was originally published in the December 2017 edition of ITMI Monthly.
During this season of giving, we asked ITMI partners to give you their heartfelt answers to several questions. These are from Paul and Molly in India. May their answers bless and encourage you!
It’s hard to pick just one! One we have enjoyed to help us counsel is Side by Side by Edward Welch. This has been a wonderful resource on using the gift of friendship to come alongside as close ones are being stretched and going through trials.
Also Thriving Despite a Difficult Marriage by Charles Misja and Michael Misja was referred by a couple different friends as another resource to encourage friends who feel alone in marriages.
The Misja brothers are counselors, and the book leads the suffering spouse to overcome shame, and how to strengthen your heart in God when you are in a trial in marriage.
Another we re-read is Extravagant Grace showing how each of our situations, our trials, our friendships are all tailored for us by the loving hand of God. Even the weaknesses and limited perspectives have all been given to us by God. We glorify God in each facet of our life as we learn to embrace these limitations and see God in them.
The first time I read this book it gave me more grace with those around me. The second time reading, I found I am the weaker one, needing so much grace to just believe. A wonderful read.
The thing I’m most thankful for this year is...
We are really most grateful for Steve Evers’ two visits! That was no small ordeal to make the ten thousand mile journey two times to India! But what a gift - to be ministered to, to share his encouragement with our people and enjoy fellowship.
That was truly refreshing for our family and church and we thank God for the sacrifice of time that was.

What is one way your ITMI supporters directly made an impact for God's Kingdom this year?
Most recently, the response to the need for water wells in a couple slums!!
What a gift to bring such a practical provision along with carrying the message of the Gospel to these precious, needy people. It is always a special joy for us to be on the giving side when we are living by faith.
