It was such a humbling gift, both Molly and Paul felt tears well up in their eyes. Aaruchi* and her daughter were presenting them with a stack of cash and 19 beautiful new dresses.
Aaruchi is a widow. She keeps herself and her daughter alive by washing clothes for her neighbors.
How had she managed to buy 19 dresses and accumulate around $100 in cash?
About $100 in cash given to Paul and Molly by Aaruchi.
She’d been saving it. For a few years. Waiting eagerly for the day when it would be enough to give to Paul and Molly.
This was that long-anticipated day.
Each year, Paul and Molly’s 19 rescued and adored girls look forward in hope to receiving Christmas dresses.

It is a financial strain for Paul and Molly, but they take joy in being able to lavish their love on the girls this way. 2019 was a difficult year for all of them, but especially for the girls.
Earlier in the year, Paul and Molly had to relocate the girls to the city in pairs, away from the village home they love, and away from most of their 19 “sisters” who they’d lived as family with all their lives.
The girls' "Sunshine home" now sits eerily empty.
The transition was an emotionally difficult one, triggering anxiety, illness and other struggles.
The expenses for the girls’ provision and care has multiplied by three or four times what it used to be. There are extra transportation and food costs due to this new living arrangement.
But it was necessary, and remains necessary for the foreseeable future.
Officers continually visit the home where the girls once lived, interrogating the caretakers about the girls’ location.
During this difficult and scary time, the Lord, who has shown He deeply cares about these 19 young ladies and their well-being over and over again, provided once again.
From such an unexpected source.
Through their tears, Paul and Molly told Aaruchi and her daughter that new dresses for their 19 rescued girls was something they hadn’t been able to afford this year.
Molly reflects, “Without the trials of our girls spread out over the city, without the threats for their safety, I would not be so keen on this [new outreach]. The Lord's plan is that His Gospel would flow out of us to people in all directions, that those called by His Name would hear, would be saved! His most precious call to salvation - coming out in power and in might, flowing, unstoppable even from our giant, messy, broken family.”
Paul and Molly urgently need help to build an “ark” - this big project that would keep the girls safe through this storm of challenges, rescue others with targets on their backs and declare the Gospel to many from all over India!
Aaruchi’s gift, her faithfulness to save up for a giving opportunity for years, shows she truly understands the economy of her Savior.
The joy she experienced when her gift brought tears to Paul and Molly’s eyes - the joy of giving - it is available to each of us by God’s perfect design.
Imagine the feeling of knowing your gift helped rescue these 19 beautiful girls from imminent danger. That is the opportunity we present to you, today.
