Pakistan
"Jesus loves you," Abid says as he provides food for a flood victim, "You need to know Him."
Pakistan has experienced historic flooding over the last few months, and in its wake, families and children are suffering. They've lost their homes and all of their possessions.
Crops and food sources have been affected, so many are hungry. Families and children have also been exposed to related physical dangers - water-borne disease, exposure to extreme heat and soon, to the cold.
We are grieving with those who are suffering, but rejoice that our supporters have the opportunity to demonstrate and declare who Jesus is and what He is like to a new group of people, using Abid, a Pakistani believer.
"No one came to us for relief. Thank you for coming."
When Abid and his fellow believers visit the flood-affected area, telling people Jesus loves them, they need to know Him and providing for some of their needs like food and medicine, this victim tells Abid,
"No one came to us for relief as we are living here on dry land and our houses have been destroyed totally. Many kids have died of high fever. We are thankful that you came here."
Meet Praam, sick with a fever from dengue or malaria.
When Abid visited this home, he found this young boy, Praam, writhing with a high fever (they thought dengue or malaria). His parents had just lost all of their resources to the flood, and could not obtain medicine for him.
Imagine as a parent watching your child struggle to fight a fever and being helpless to provide relief, and you can understand what this family must have felt when Abid was able to get them the medicine their son needed.
Abid made sure they knew that this was provided because Jesus, who loves and cares for them and their needs, moved in the hearts of people across the ocean to give their money to meet these needs.
Abid and his team prayed with the family, asking Jesus to heal Praam, provide for his basic needs and give him peace.
You Need to Know Jesus
Abid (wearing a green shirt) tells the flood victims why he and his team were there and that each of them needs to get to know Jesus.
Jesus loves them, cares about them, and has provided for them in their need.
"I am so thankful, my heart is joyful..."
Abid's one-minute heartfelt message for ITMI supporters.
