“Gratitude pleases God.” That’s how a very good friend and a pastor introduced his sermon a few weeks ago. We experienced this in one of the most unlikely places at the end of September, when we were invited to share during a Family Conference near Timisoara, about three hours away from Oradea. One of the elders got in touch with us several months ago. He told us the church was planted a few years ago, and many of its members are fairly poor, working for low wages, yet faithfully attending the church. We sat and listened to them praise the Lord and worship Him, and it was so touching and sincere despite their modest means of living.
Adi leading a sessionWe are very grateful the Lord blessed us with a wonderful time at the retreat with the Sunday school teachers from Emmanuel Baptist Church. For the past eight years (with one exception) Fall has been the time when we spend two days in a quiet place near Oradea to discuss the school year, the curriculum and the classes (age groups). During the lastsession, we had a special time of fellowship and prayer. We also handed out little prizes (books) for those who have been in ministry for twenty years (two persons), fifteen years (2), and one year or less (3). Most of those in the group have an average of 8 years in ministry. We thank the Lord for their faithfulness and dedication!
We are grateful for the ministry He is allowing us to have among young people. A month ago we began the Marriage Preparation Class in our church. This year’s group is quite different from the groups we’ve had in the past two years, as they readily engage in conversation, and are active in asking questions and sharing. Among other things, an interesting aspect to note is that this is the first time in ten years that when we introduced our session on finances and asked how many have bank accounts (very unusual in the Romanian culture a few years ago!), we found out not only do they have accounts but they also use internet banking! As you can imagine, this welcomed a rich discussion on stewardship and ownership!
Enjoying nice fall weather and celebrating Eduard’s 12th birthday!
“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”

Grateful for your prayers,
