One of African believers’ greatest needs is discipleship. Without quality equipping and teaching, they can fall into adding Jesus’ name to their old ancestral worship patterns. Many get saved, but never have the opportunity to go any deeper – to find out what they’ve been saved into.
That’s the mission and passion of Tim and Ashley Keller. One of the innovative solutions to this widespread problem they’ve come up with is filling a shipping container with education and discipleship materials, including Bibles – much of it obtained used and at cost effective prices or free by donors – and ship it to Africa. They’ve shipped one such container previously and it yielded great fruit.

That container was filled mostly by believers supporting the Kellers by collecting used materials to send in the container and providing funding to ship it to Zambia, and now we have an opportunity to do it again!

We have a pretty cool opportunity for people who want to help support our container project. Right now the Westminster Bookstore has HUGE discounts on some of their cases and case lots. For example, this Bible works out to be only $1 per Bible including shipping (it’s a big lump sum, though as it’s 240 Bibles in total). They also have options for discounted study Bibles (which are VERY helpful for African pastors in areas so remote that they rarely get any discipleship.)
Of course Bibles could be purchased from any source, we’re simply making these links available for convenience and because I don’t think we’ve ever seen quality Bibles as cheap as that first link. The Kellers are also raising funds to ship the container full of these precious discipleship materials. The Bibles will be an awesome resource… but we have to get them there first! This is a great opportunity to give our African brothers and sisters in Christ the precious Word of God in a very affordable way.
