I have been meeting with different people from the medical school ranging from cooking together, Bible studies, mens’ groups, English clubs, and movies. It has been really exciting to be able to do life together and gain their trust.
I totally had a divine encounter with people from the medical school. I met many people from the medical school because of a friend named Ronak from Arizona who is studying medicine in English in Poznan. Well, one day a few weeks ago I was having a bad day, as I got into a small accident where I dented the door of an Audi. Thank God my car was barely damaged as my insurance only covers cars I damage. After this I decided to go to a mall where there was Pizza Hut so I could eat some greasy food to make me feel better. As I was sitting there waiting for my order, a few tables down I recognized two of the same guys I met through Ronak! I went over to their table, greeted them, and then they invited me to sit with them. These two guys were with six other people from the Medical School that they introduced me to! I was then even invited to go to the movies with them after dinner. We exchanged numbers and now we keep in touch. It is so cool to see how God set this meeting up. Please pray as I continue getting to know these new friends.
Playing Host
In this last month God has provided more ministry opportunities and has allowed my apartment to be a ministry tool. I am really excited that my apartment can be used for God’s glory. As of this month my apartment is used the following 3 times every week for ministry purposes.
(1) Meeting for peer discipleship with one of the newly baptized people at K5N Church, Przemek, from the college group at K5N Church. He just got saved a couple of months ago and it has been exciting to meet with him to discuss Jesus and especially the Old Testament as he has not read it yet.
(2) Men’s group with two individuals from the Gospel Joy Bible study. We are going through the Band of Brothers(!) series in Polish. One of the individuals named Łukasz personally requested this group to help him with his faith. Many other people recommended for us to meet with him as well as he was really struggling. We always have some good, manly, and God – filled conversation 🙂
(3) I have the opportunity to co-lead a Bible study on the Old Testament with a guy named Mateusz as part of the college group at K5N church. This group results from requests on getting to know the Old Testament from several people. For the first meeting we had 10 people, believers and nonbelievers alike-Praise God!
Multiplication
Finally, the Gospel Joy Bible study has great news! It has become so large that it needs to multiply. Over 50 people have come to this group at one time or another, and every week there is somewhere between 15 and 25 people that come. Andrew Górski who is the leader of this group has decided to multiply this group by starting at least one more Bible study on a different day and different location in Poznan. What’s even better is that His 10th annual gospel joy workshop in Poznan is on December 1 – 2. Here we are going to put on a gospel concert with TGD, the oldest (30 years old) and most popular gospel choir in Poland. They have been on Polish TV and are known in Poland. There are already 368 people on Facebook that are confirmed as going to the concert and 282 maybies! The plan is to give all the attendants of the workshop and concerts and opportunity to join one of the Gospel Joy community groups. This could be huge and lead to lots of people being able to be followed up with, hear the good news, get saved and be discipled!
I want to leave you with comments from people that have come to the Gospel Joy Bible study that show how lives are impacted through these groups:
“This community is irreplaceable. My life has changed – I opened myself up to God, because of this group my perspective on life has changed this year. I got saved. This group is in the real thing!”
“Because of this group I got saved and became a new person.”
“Today I know that my life would be “at rock bottom” so to speak because life without God is filled with gray – today my life has been filled up with colors. Everyday I thank God that I know him, can read about him and that I can share him with everyone so that all can be as happy as me and get to know what the best is for their lives.”
“I am beginning to think on things that l I did not know before.”Got Saved Pull Quote
” I feel love in my life.”
“A lot is happening because God really uses these meetings to work in my heart.”
“These groups help me to make good everyday decisions, interact with other people better, and face difficult situations. The group changes my worldview.”
“I have an opportunity to meet with real Christians.”
“I was never in a group such as this. I enjoy the warmth which is very tangible, a present peace that is indescribable.”
“I want to learn the faith.”
Please pray for the people from the Medical School, my apartment and people that come for discipleship, men’s group, and Old Testament Bible study. For Gospel Joy, and especially the workshops/concerts on December 1 – 2, and that many blessings result from this first weekend of December including salvations and opportunities for people to be part of a group where they can read the Word of God and experience God’s love.
Who would have thought I would ever be dressed in a gospel gown singing gospel music?
In Christ,
Daniel Machlowski
