“Zambezi : Well thanks for all the partnership in prayer.
Wow, what a day!
End of the paved road, no diesel in the only fuel station and no real commitment on when fuel will be delivered. What to do? John Jere on the cell phone trying to call anyone who knew anyone who might have some diesel we could buy.
After 20-30 cell calls, and a handful of hours hanging out under a local shade tree, with a good number of locals staring at the obviously stranded foreigners, God brought a young man walking by our vehicles and John started a conversation. Clifford may have been born in Zambezi, but he had to be an angel.
Clifford got in our vehicle and guided us around this community, checking to see who was hoarding some diesel. We finally found, in the middle of nowhere, another family that had 80 liters of that liquid gold.
Gerhard is seen communicating to these young men that we are Christians and we want very much to not purchase any unlawful or stolen fuel. He put the fear in them, and we were not only promised, it wasn’t stolen, but we would also only have to pay the going rate normally paid at the fuel station.
Can the story possibly turn out any better than that? Stay tuned and see where we’re staying tonight… Great blessing No. 2!!
