ITMI's Eugene Kalunga is a passionate educator who was called to spread the Gospel through education. Even as a colligate lecturer, he was passionate about teaching children the Bible. When he became a father, he began educating at home, teaching his children to see the world from a Biblical perspective and to share the gospel.
Eugene's passion for teaching children led to other children in the area joining their studies, until 50 children were being homeschooled out of Eugene's tiny home!
ITMI eventually helped Eugene purchase a facility for the academy in Kabwe, Zambia. Excellence Christian Academy has been offering underprivileged children a quality, Christian, evangelistic education since 1997.

You can get a glimpse of the facilities in this photo, where ECA students wait to go on a field trip.
One of Eugene's main objectives is for students to learn to share the gospel. To achieve that goal, the students participate in outreaches and community services helping widows and other children.
Of the outreach events, Eugene says, "The students do have the chance to speak to people really in need, and it is important because they witness to them about Jesus Christ. They do thank God for the experience."
Recently, Audrey Kalunga and some of the female students traveled to a rural area outside Kabwe, where students helped bless the people there. The people were grateful to receive the small tokens of care and provision, handed out in blue bags.
This month, Eugene shared that 12 people came to Christ as a result of a rural outreach event!
What a beautiful thing for ECA students to experience the joy of blessing someone in need, getting to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and then getting to be a part of ushering them into the Kingdom!
Will you pray for the staff and students of ECA?
Ask God to bless their efforts, provide for their needs and expand their reach to more children who would love to be included in receiving a quality education.
