South Sudan
Justin is an officer in the South Sudan army. Earlier this fall, Justin attended a SALT training put on by ITMI's Jahim Buli. The focus of the training was a Biblical perspective on finances.
Afterward, Justin said,
"No one has ever told me that the money I have belong to God and I am just a manager managing God’s money and have the privilege to enjoy His money. I have never tithed in my life and I spend what I have in foolishly.
I am going to starts a new life from what I have learned today."
Another attendee shared,
"Honestly speaking I have not been faithful on the issue of money. May God help me with His grace to be a faithful servant and a good manager of His money and to invest them wisely."
ITMI's Jahim Buli is an ITMI partner, church planter, pastor and SALT materials trainer. He has been faithfully sharing Biblical truths with the people of South Sudan.
The response has been nothing short of incredible.
So many people responded to Jahim's heralding of the Good News that although he never intended to plant a church, in order to disciple all the new believers, he had to! Today, Word of Life Church is flourishing in Juba, South Sudan.

They are sharing Christ and standing firm through tribal violence, mass hunger, persecution from other believers who criticize Jahim's refusal to use God's Word to "put on a show."
And Jahim continues to share the Good News and how it implicates our lives using the SALT material from Victorious Christian Living. He gives trainings to groups in Juba and beyond.
Here was Jahim's reflection on the training:
I am beginning to see the light of the truth penetrating the hearts and the mind of those who have attended this training. The scriptures stated that, “my people perish because of lack of knowledge.”
I am beginning to see the fruits of training, those who didn't give have started giving into the work of God and supporting the needy. Those who didn’t plan have started planning to spend what they have. And the priorities are to provide the family necessities.
Many in Africa, though they associate with Christianity, aren't aware of how to live like Jesus calls us to live. So the idea of using your money to care for your own family is all new to some.
Many of the Biblical principles on finances that are common wisdom in our culture are not part of the culture in South Sudan.
Jahim is working tirelessly to infiltrate hearts and minds in South Sudan with Biblical wisdom and faithfulness.
