You’d never believe it, but behind this wonderful smile is a story of hardship and pain.
Andile was born with Spina Bifida, and is disabled from the waist down as a result. He lives the same community as ITMI partners, Kelly and Cherise Smith in Zulu Natal, South Africa.
Andile’s family situation was also a difficult one. Kelly and Cherise were concerned about his less-than-desirable family situation for awhile, but were prevented from stepping in.
Two years ago, they were able to step in and assist. They welcomed Andile into their home. Andile’s exact age is unknown, but the Smiths think he is around 7 years old.
“He has definitely had his challenges in his short life, but you can tell he was made for great things!” the Smith’s said.
After some time with the Smiths, Andile moved to another home. He returned for a visit with the Smiths for five weeks last Christmas.
Not long after, they shared with us that they had identified a family in the US who was interested in adopting Andile, and were working to facilitate his adoption! There are still many hurdles to be overcome in that process. We continue to pray with them for Andile’s adoption.
In a beautiful demonstration of Jesus’ advocacy to the Father for us, the Smiths continue to advocate for this young one who has no one else to advocate for him.
They recently raised funds to provide Andile with a wheelchair!
With a better set of wheels underneath him, Andile will bless more and more people with his amazing smile.
The Smith’s could never have blessed this young man without being sent to South Africa to bless people there. Thank you for sending them and supporting them!
Thank you for partnering with us to enable quality national workers to reach many!
