At the beginning of the month, we shared 5 Ways the le Roux family is Influencing a Community and Building Trust.
And we already have a 6th way they are reaching their community to add! (Although, technically, maybe this falls under #2. You be the judge.)
The family has started helping local children make their own garden on the Onseepkans Mission property. They get to keep whatever produce is yielded.
The children are valued and esteemed by the whole family, who offer their time and knowledge to help the gardens grow. Participants learn a valuable skill, and it keeps hands from getting too idle.
"The interaction creates ample opportunities to share the Gospel," Gerhard said, "Most of them now also start to attend our Sunday morning services."
They family hopes this will grow into the opportunity to train local kids in other sought-after skills as well.
As you can see from these photos, the kids not only love it, they are focused on their work proud of their accomplishments!

This girl is all smiles for Martie le Roux, who often plays with the local kids.

Shoveling compost.
Your support of Onseepkans Mission allows the le Roux family to be in Onseepkans, declaring and demonstrating Jesus.
Thanks for your partnership!
