It didn't seem like the most ideal setting.
An Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in progress at a nearby table made this coffee shop, on this particular evening in Poznan, Poland, a distracting place to attempt sharing the Good News.
But that would never stop ITMI’s Daniel Machlowski. Daniel and two other believers, Matthew and Lily, were meeting with Magdalene.
Magdalene was genuinely excited to learn that the condemning god she’d feared all her life was actually a Good Father who sent His Son to pursue a loving relationship with her.
In spite of the distractions around her, Magdalene gave her life to Jesus that night. She couldn’t wait to tell her boyfriend about it!
When she found she could download Piotr Zaremba’s Polish translation of the Bible on her phone she quickly did so. Then she asked if they could meet again the following week.
The next week as they studied the Bible, two men from the Alcoholics Anonymous meeting decided to join them. Magdalene had her first discipleship lesson and experience being used by God to spread His Good News!
The passage they were studying was the “Pearl of Great Price” and the woman with the long hair who threw herself at Jesus’ feet, weeping.
A believer for just one week, Magdalene quickly connected the stories, “The woman found Jesus - the Pearl of Great Price!”
Daniel asks us to pray the two seekers from Alcoholics Anonymous, Dariusz and Gary, also find and receive the priceless pearl.
Jail Ministry: Reaching the Truly Marginalized
Four detainees in a local jail have been the recipients of regular visits from Daniel and a group of believers. Daniel reports,
"Praise the Lord, three of the four guys we have been visiting want to go after Jesus! Please pray that they continue seeking the Lord and that our 4th guy also makes a decision for Christ."
Damien, recently released from prison, holds up a copy of Piotr Zaremba's translation of the Bible with Daniel and Blueberry's Saturday Home Group.
A Big Announcement
Daniel and his wife, Blueberry, announced they are expecting their first born later this fall! (2018)
In January, when the couple found out they were expecting, Blueberry had been looking for employment for four months with no success.
The day after they discovered the joyous news, Blueberry was offered a position at a store in the mall. Blueberry wanted to be truthful to the potential employer about being pregnant. Daniel instantly agreed.
As a result, Blueberry didn’t get the job, which meant she wouldn’t have medical insurance.
Then, a couple months later, Blueberry’s old position as secretary at a music school opened up again. Because of her dedication and hard work while she was employed there, they offered her the position!
Daniel summarizes, “We praise the Lord that God helped us be patient, endure, and be faithful.”
