South Sudan
January was an exciting month at Word of Life Church in Juba, South Sudan. Thirty-two new believers who came to faith were baptized in the Nile river!
ITMI's Jahim Buli is a faithful and dedicated believer who has been equipped for the vital ministry he has in Juba, South Sudan through various ministries of ITMI.
Jahim spent time learning from ITMI's Muhindo Kawede at the International School of Missions in Uganda, before being equipped with the SALT material and in-person training from ITMI Director, Steve Evers.
He was so effective at sharing the Gospel with his neighbors, that he had to plant a church to disciple them! That church is Word of Life Church, which Jahim still shepherds.
He has faced opposition, tribal warfare and violence and been urged to leave the country multiple times, but he has persevered in serving in South Sudan because he knows his people are hurting and need Jesus.
Jahim seizes the moment to allow the Holy Spirit to use him to turn 32 salvations in to a few more!
Jahim and the people of Word of Life Church continue to offer Jesus as the answer for the hurting and traumatized around them - which is just about everyone after decades of war followed by ongoing tribal violence.
Praise the Lord for the faithfulness of these believers who it seems the Lord has raised up for just this time and purpose in their country.
