Zimbabwe
by Charl van Wyk
As [southern hemisphere] winter approached, our hearts and minds turned toward the less fortunate among us, particularly those who face the harsh cold without adequate protection.
In Zimbabwe, the winter season brings significant challenges to many impoverished communities. The need for warmth and comfort becomes paramount, and we believe it is our Christian duty to respond with love and compassion.
In Proverbs 19:17, we are reminded, "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his deed."
This scripture highlights the importance of our role in serving those in need. By blessing the poor, we not only provide for their physical needs but also embody the love and care of Jesus Christ.
Enter, In Touch Mission International (ITMI) ministry partners; and Cozmore!
This is exactly what our ITMI partners did when they donated funds designated to spreading the Gospel and providing blankets to the suffering.
Cozmore and his team jumped right in to serve, with Christ’s love and His Gospel, which effects every area of life.
Cozmore reminds us, “Zimbabwe's winter months can be particularly brutal for the impoverished. Many families lack the means to buy blankets, leaving them vulnerable to the cold. Children, the elderly, and the sick are especially at risk. Without adequate warmth, the risk of illness and suffering increases dramatically.
“We cannot thank our ITMI friends enough for blessing our suffering neighbors, with warmth this winter!”
Our ITMI family were called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Our mission is to bring light into the darkness and hope into despair.
Providing blankets to the poor in Zimbabwe is a tangible way to fulfill this calling. A warm blanket can mean the difference between life and death for those struggling to survive the winter.
Pray: Pray for the poor in Zimbabwe, that they may find comfort and warmth during the winter season. Pray also for our mission, that it may reach those in greatest need.
Donate: Your financial contributions can help us buy and distribute more blankets. Even a small donation can make a significant impact. So many more are still in need.
Spread the Word: Share this newsletter with your friends, family, and church community.
Raising awareness is a crucial step in garnering the support needed to make a difference.
In Matthew 25:40, Jesus said,
"Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to Me."
Let us take this message to heart and act with compassion and generosity.
Together, we can bring the Gospel, warmth, hope, and the love of Jesus to the poor in Zimbabwe this winter.
I don’t know of any giver of gifts who also presented the Gospel, being asked to leave a home in Zimbabwe.
May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and support. Let us continue to be a beacon of hope in a world that so desperately needs Jesus Christ!
Thanks again,
Charl
