South Africa
ITMI’s Gerhard and Elmane le Roux minister in the remote and marginalized Northern Cape area of South Africa. Recently, the le Roux family is excited about two relatively new opportunities to make disciples.
The le Roux family lives on a piece of property which they call Onseepkans Mission. (Onseepkans is the name of the small remote farming town where they are located.) The family tried to use this land to support their mission activities and interact with others in their community, for example, by farming dates.
Gerhard writes, “We are grateful that we can employ two workers in the date orchard. We have a daily Bible study and prayer with our two workers, and this has been the most successful Gospel outreach thus far. The daily Bible study gives me the opportunity to build into their lives.”
The second opportunity to make disciples is a budding relationship that is developing between the le Rouxs and a group of widows from Warmbad, Namibia. Though across the border, Warmbad is home to people from the Nama tribe, just like Onseepkans.
The le Rouxs make regular visits to Warmbad to visit with and minister to the ladies of Warmbad.
Meanwhile, the le Roux’s eldest daughter, Martie, has been called by the Lord to be a missionary teacher, ministering mainly to the children of Onseepkans. She is currently attending Cedar International Institute, where she is getting the benefit of a Bible-based curriculum.
ITMI supporters were instrumental in equipping this young missionary by helping provide the tuition for Martie’s education.
Gerhard writes, “We want to thank all our brothers and sisters in Christ who faithfully prayed for us and supported us through the years. Without your prayers and support we would not be where we are today. May God richly bless you for all that you did and do for His Kingdom.
