Kalisz Baptist Church is Reaching Their NeighborhoodTomek
Tomek Jezyk is the Director of Bread of Life’s outreaches in the city of Kalisz, Poland. He’s also the pastor of Kalisz Baptist Church. (Tomek is pictured at the right.)
Tomek’s work with Bread of Life and Kalisz Baptist Church was featured in What made a church in“gangland” move their pews outside? a recent edition of ITMI Monthly.
Tomek has great compassion for the people of Kalisz. He works tirelessly to point them to Jesus.
He leads the church on mission by example, building relationships with gang members, the poor, and alcoholics.
Tomek is freed up to work full-time with Bread of Life because he receives financial support. The church cannot afford to pay him anything for his services – he just does it because he loves the Polish people and wants to see them come to Jesus.
Making Their Facility More Hospitable
The church owns an old building with a courtyard. The tiny church has finally been able to afford renovations on the facility and also received funds to purchase a heater! (pictured below)
This is a big deal for a tiny church in a poor neighborhood. It will make their building much more hospitable for those who take refuge within its walls.
The church has already been using their resources to serve the needy in their city.
They recently used their courtyard to give their community a “children’s day,” where families could come and enjoy activities together.
Tomek operates an after-school program for the local kids in the facility, too.
Now that the renovations are done and the funds were raised for a heater, they will soon be having an outreach event meant to bless non-believers and addicts.
Tomek says, “Please pray for this opportunity, let Holy Spirit touch the hearts of people.”
Thank You: We Couldn’t Do it Without Help
The church is grateful to those who made the purchase of the heater possible.
We as a church want to say thank you for your generosity let our Lord bless you,” Tomek shares,“We are so glad that Lord provide everything in his time.
