India
In addition to holding outreaches for children in the Modi Road slum in Bangalore, India, ITMI's David and Taru Kumar also have outreaches for the women.
Here's a testimony from one of the women who graduated from David and Taru's Tailoring Program for women in Modi Road. She's sharing what the program has meant to her.
The certificate is desirable for these women because most of them are not allowed to leave the slum to earn income, but their husbands generally can't or don't provide for them or their children, so getting to earn this certificate is such a big deal for them it's hard to find the words to communicate just how much it means to them.
Just offering the opportunity shows these women they are valued and cared for.
But as you'll hear, while the women are at the center for their weekly training, David and Taru are demonstrating Jesus' love and care, and praying for and with the women.
We hope after listening to this one-minute video, you'll have a little better idea of just how impactful your gifts to ITMI and our partners David and Taru are in places like Modi Road, where life is harsh, relationships are difficult and the basic needs of women and children often go unmet.
