Why Do We Do What We Do?
This article first appeared in the March 2015 edition of ITMI Monthly. Why do we feed the poor? They stink. Why do we care for widows and orphans? They have diseases and miseries of every kind. Why do we go to dangerous and semi-closed countries to evangelize and disciple the persecuted? We could get a […]
Saved from Mob Justice
There is a popular song in East Africa that teaches the community that a witchdoctor and a liar deserve to be set on fire. This happened to Mr. Buyongwe (Buy-yong-wee) John, an 80-year-old man who was a well-known witchdoctor, who lived in the Cankozo District in the Republic of Burundi. The people of Cankozo were fed up with the witchcraft practices of Mr. Buyongwe. This led to poverty because many people paid all their money to him to solve their problems. One day the community decided to (punish) his witchcraft lies by setting him on fire.
Wrongly Accused at the Police Station
Not long ago, Kawede was summoned to the local police department. The owner of the leased 2-room structure was illegally demanding the property back, and the police were siding with him. They demanded to know why Kawede had not vacated the leased property.

And she meant every word.

What I Didn’t Mention Last Month About Overheating in Sudan
We touched a little on my “overheating” challenge in the Sudanese SPLA division military compound in our last month’s newsletter. If you will bear with me, I’m pretty sure that I need to share, as Paul Harvey would say, “the rest of the story.”
I Am Not God: the African Church Leaders’ Battle
It seems God is starting a movement in South Sudan and He used ITMI Board Member, Bob Fulkerson, Steve and ITMI to plant the seed.
A Spiritual Battle in South Sudan
As you may know I am in Juba, South Sudan. It is very important to these people that you make sure you say “South Sudan” and not just “Sudan”. They fought long and hard, with much loss and sacrifice
