As June comes to a close, the youth at ITMI’s Casa Dorca Children’s Home finish their school year and officially kick off their summer.
With the help of their monthly sponsors, Casa Dorca does an excellent job of providing the youth who live there with multiple opportunities to integrate with their local body of believers through camps and other events. They are also able to provide some fun activities and life experiences that these youth will need in order to become thriving and productive adults.
Last month, several of the teens attended a Christian youth gathering in a nearby village, where they had the opportunity to worship and learn alongside their peers as well as fellowship with other Christians in the area.
Last month, the Casa Dorca boys got the opportunity to build some life skills as they assisted a staff member in fixing the roof of Casa Dorca’s chicken coop. Learning these construction skills under the supervision of a Casa Dorca staff member presents the opportunity to learn valuable skills under the supervision of a caring adult.
Casa Dorca’s plan for the summer months includes swimming, hiking, camping, and church camps. Casa Dorca Director, Ionel Lovescu writes, “Pray for safety and that we and that God would use these things to bring the kids into a relationship with Him.” Casa Dorca also asks us to pray for additional children to be placed with them.
Casa Dorca urgently needs additional monthly sponsors to help them meet the monthly expenses of operating this safe place for hurting kids and teens.
Casa Dorca has operated this beautiful ministry for years, and has been an ITMI partner for decades. The impact ITMI supporters have made on so many young lives is simply incalculable.
What a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful ministry!
