THE CONTEXT
Our Eastern European partners have been reaching people for Christ and building up the church in Poland and Romania.
As many of their neighbors from Ukraine are thrown into great need, the church is ready and waiting to welcome in the hurting, share Jesus with them, encourage them in their faith and help meet physical needs.
Our partners are leading aid and outreach efforts from their various locations in Eastern Europe. In many cases they are able to be on hand and ready because ITMI supporters have stood behind them with prayer and financial support.
This map shows Polish and Romanian cities where ITMI partners are located:
HISTORY
ITMI founder, Bill Bathman was a missionary based in Austria when the Lord began to lead him to help believers behind the Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe. Bill smuggled Bibles and resources for believers and pastors, helping them share Jesus.
This was not a message that was approved of by the Communist dictators, so these Christians were taking great risks.
Through this work, Bill met believers that ITMI still partners with to reach their Eastern European countries today, such as Piotr Zaremba, Adi and Ema Ban and Casa Dorca Children's Home.
Because of these long-standing partnerships and over four decades of experience ministering in Eastern Europe, ITMI partners are uniquely positioned to make a difference for Christ during Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Pastors and leaders have been toiling tirelessly for a year now. …
