Under his direction, Bread of Life, Kalisz serves over 3,000 people a year meeting social and spiritual needs. Job search assistance, help finding a place to live, support for single moms, a clothing closet or spiritual guidance are some of the most common services Bread of Life offers through the Kalisz office. Tomek leads “David’s Club,” which is karate training for about 250 underprivileged and street kids. He is also the voluntary pastor of a local church.
Darek Banicki, co-pastor of the Gniezno Baptist Church, has two children who were born with Niemann-Pick, Type C. In 2008, his son Michael went home to be with His Lord. Darek’s daughter, Eliza, suffers from the same disease, and the family needs help with her treatment.
Planted by Piotr Zaremba’s K5N Church and pastored by ITMI’s Richard Nungesser, Poznan International Church offers the many Internationals living, working or studying in Poznan a place to hear the Gospel of Christ in English, connect with God’s people and experience a preview of God’s Kingdom.
Bread of Life’s Transitional Home – New Life Center – offers homeless Polish men a place to reintegrate into society. NLC staff hold the men accountable, provide godly counsel, and train them in critical life and job skills while also teaching them about the new life they can have in Christ.
Leszek Wakula is the pastor of the only Baptist church in Lodz, Poland. He and his wife, Anna, lead their congregation in building relationships that reach people for Christ. This includes a youth ministry, an education center and care for the elderly, earning their church a reputation for their depth of care and willingness to go where no one else is willing in the name of Jesus.
Gospel Joy impacts Polish culture and transforms individuals with the message of Jesus Christ using gospel music and through discipleship, Bible studies, worship services, national network of choirs, workshops and concerts.
Andrew Gorski is president of Gospel Joy and serves as elder at 5N (Piotr Zaremba’s) church in Poznan, Poland. His passion is developing leaders. Anna Gorski has come to know Christ at one of Gospel Joy’s events. Now they lead two bible groups and disciple young believers.
Born in Kraków near the end of the Communist era and raised in America, Daniel Machlowski is both an “insider” and an “outsider” – a Polish-American who knows the English and Polish languages fluently, and has a firm grasp of both cultures.
Bread of Life, founded by Richard and Brooke Nungesser, serves Polish homeless people by offering them hot meals, warm clothing, counseling, and most importantly, hope in Jesus Christ.
The Nungessers are the Founders and International Directors of Bread of Life, and Richard is the pastor of Poznan International Church. They moved to Poland in 2000 to share the gospel by teaching English. But when they discovered the great needs of the destitute and homeless in Poland, they founded the Bread of Life ministry to help Polish people meet the needs of their fellow countrymen.
